Visiting Mountain Communities with Care
Begin with conversation: greet people, introduce yourself and explain your photographic interest before entering everyday spaces. People are participants, not scenery.
Ask first: seek clear consent for portraits, work and interiors. If someone prefers not to be photographed, put the camera away and respect the choice.
Notice the setting: paths, roofs, tea utensils and light can tell a story too. Leave arrangements as they are and keep daily activities unobstructed.
Share thoughtfully: describe photographs honestly without inventing another person’s identity or story. Thank your hosts and leave nothing behind.
